    Thanks a Sloth

Happy Sunday, hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.  We are having a Critter Instagram Hop right now with prizes at every stop.

Here is my creation featuring one of the sloths from the Stewart the Sloth stamp set.

I colored the sloth, the flowers and leaves from the Hoppy for You stamp set using Copic markers.  I then die the following – Foliage Frame from gray card stock, Cross Stitch Circle from white card stock, and a Stitched Fishtail Banner from green card stock.  I stamped the Thanks a sLOTh sentiment onto the banner.

I adhered everything to a green card base using liquid and foam dimensional adhesive.  I added some sparkle to the flowers using a shimmer pen to finish the card – I wish the camera could capture this.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the HOP.

    Birthday Shaker Card

Hi Everyone!  It’s Heidi and I have a happy shaker card for you today using the Kat Scrappiness Cross Stitched Circle dies along with some of Kat’s sparkly sequins.

I was in the mood to make a birthday card for this project and was inspired by all the fun colors in Kat’s Rock Candy sequin mix.

I chose some colored cardstock from Gina K.’s Island Dream and Doodlebug’s Swiss Dot Petite Paper Pad to go with the theme.

I made two frames using the 2nd and 3rd smallest Cross Stitched circles and the 1st and 2nd smallest circles

I used the 3rd smallest circle to cut out a solid circle from the Doodlebug purple polka dots.  This is my back to my shaker.  I adhered it to the front of a white card base off to the side on the bottom left and put a little mound of sequins on top.  I’ll eventually overlap the smaller green shaker circle on top.

I cut out another smaller circle using some of the bright green polka dot paper from the Doodlebug pad and put some sequins on top of that.

I adhered the frames I created to some acetate and cut around the circles to create my shaker windows.

Using my large Tonic non-stick scissors, I cut strips of foam tape for the windows

I peeled the backing off then just wrapped it around the back of my circle windows.  I placed the windows on top of the sequin filled circles to create the shakers.

I made another circle from the smallest Cross Stitched circle to add to the front.  I wanted to put part of a sentiment on it so I cut the second smallest circle from the Never Ending Circles die set in white.  I adhered it over the top of the larger circle with foam tape after stamping it with the “Yay!” from Hero Arts’ Birthday Messages stamp set.  It fit perfectly so you could still see the cross stitching from the main circle.  That set really comes in handy.  There are so many sizes of circles!

I added another sentiment from the same stamp set to the bottom right corner of the card and assembled my circles overlapping on the front.
