    Under the Sea

    I Hello Friends!

Today I am making a card with one of my favorite dies. It is the Under the Sea die by Kat Scrappiness. I love how it creates a beautiful back drop with so many options.

I started this card by cutting a layer 1 in white card stock. I next color blended some blues and teals over the entire piece. Once satisfied with the color range I die cut the background. I cut a card base out of black card stock to mount the Under The Sea Background.

Once the background was mounted I knew I needed to anchor the growing scene. I cut a piece of brown card stock free hand to create a sandy ocean floor. I dotted this sand with dark brown ink to add dimension to the sand. Now I questioned myself on what was needed to finish the scene. I knew it could use a bright color and a ‘yellow submarine ‘ came to mind. I picked out my sentiment next and embossed it in white on a black banner. Instead of fish I decided on some stingrays to complete the scene. I added some acrylic bubbles and the card was completed.

I would suggest you use this Kat Scrappiness Die and create your own under the sea card. Enjoy your trip under the sea.

    Dolphin Paradise

    Hi card crafting folks,

Sharing a fun card to send out for any occasion. Used the Kat Scrappiness dies to create this water scene.

Step one was to die cut the dolphin and waves in various shades of blue.

Next step was to stencil clouds on the A-2 layer one.

Step three was to die cut a yellow sun using the embossed edge circle dies. I then ink blended shades of yellow onto the sun and splatted a bit of water to create texture. Next I layered the shades of blue wave border die strips onto the card. I stenciled white highlights onto the waves to create the setting sun light on the water. I added the dolphin die cut in the dark gray in front of the sunset.

The final step was adding the sentiment banner and some acrylic bubbles. The layer was then attached to the coordinating card base.

I like this card because it can be used for any occasion by adding the appropriate sentiment on the inside.

    Happy Easter

Happy Joyous Easter to all my crafty friends!

I am sharing an Easter card using the Kat Scrappiness “He is Risen” Die Set. I created a framed dimensional card  using dies and card stock.

I started by die cutting all the pieces needed for the Easter scene.

Using dimensional foam tape I constructed the card giving it dimension.

To complete the look I added a gold frame to “box” the image. I did add a few acrylic bubbles to the card front.

  • A Bunch of Bunnies

    A Bunch of Bunnies

    Friends,

I am so excited to be sharing this simple Easter card using the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Outline Bunny Die. This is a card that can be assembly line made. This would be great if you had a bunch of Easter cards to send out.

The cards can be the same yet different simply by using different patterned paper. I chose to use various spring colors and black to die cut the bunnies and define them.  Layering a black die cut behind the colored one allows the eye to see depth.  Each Bunny got a colorful bunny tail.

The final step is to layer up coordinating paper to create the finished card. I used a simple sentiment on a fishtail banner and added a few acrylic bubbles and the card was finished.   I believe this fun card will bring a smile to everyone’s face.

  • Shaker Heart

    Shaker Heart

    Crafty Friends,

Loving all the Valentine cards everyone has been sharing. My contribution today is a Kat Scrappiness Heart Shaker Dimension Set card. These kits are so easy to use to make creative cards.

I always like to start by picking my papers and cutting the paper to size. (Used a die to cut thin frame)

Using the Heart shaker set, I covered the heart with glue and covered it with red glitter.

Assembled the paper layers and attached the dimensional portion of the heart to the card. I filled the heart with Kat Scrappiness sprinkles in several sizes, shapes, and colors. Stamped the sentiment from the Kat Scrappiness “Say it with Hearts” Stamp Set on a banner.

Attached the sentiment over the lower part of the heart shaker. Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
