    Simply Amazing Card with Ink Smooshed Background

    Hello crafty friends!

    It’s Alicia a.k.a. Crafty Al here to share a look at the 5×7 card that I created using some of the new products from Kat Scrappiness.

    To create the background I did some ink smooshing and then used the 5×7 Neverending Rectangles die set. I used one rectangle to cut out the main piece and 2 smaller ones to create an inner frame (which I later put on the inside). Before placing these pieces onto the card front I added some embossed line details with a VersaMarker Waterrmark pen and adhered to some sliver foil cardstock.

    I cut the Simply Amazing Sentiment with Shadow Die using vellum and silver foil cardstock and to finish off the card I adhered a smattering of pearls from the Midnight Sky pearl mix.

    Hello Friends and Happy Friday!  It’s Donna W. here today and I’m sharing this Halloween project that’s sure to make your skin crawl…..unless you don’t have Arachnophobia!

    But before I get to the project, I would like to remind everyone of the Spooky Sale-A-Bration at the Kat Scrappiness Shop.  The Sale allows you to save 15% on products on the Halloween and Thanksgiving categories.

    I’ve created a Coffin Shaped Treat Box and decorated it using cuts from the Kat Scrappiness Creepy Crawly Die Set  and papers from the Boo To You Slimline Paper Pack.

    This Treat Coffin measures 5″ long x 2.75″ at the widest point x 1.25″ in height.  It is a free SVG cut file from Bird’s Cards and I cut it using my Cricut Explore Air.

    I’ve added googly eyes to the large spider and colored in the smaller spider’s eyes using Gelly Roll Pens.  For the finishing touches, I’ve added Silver Rhinestones and Dark Purple Amethyst Rhinestones; both from Kat Scrappiness along with a purple polka dot ribbon from my stash.

    I had a lot of fun creating this card! I’m trying to get out of my comfort zone and do more ink blending and I loved how my background panel turned out! Isn’t the Kat Scrappiness Distressed Edge Rectangle perfect for a Halloween card?!


    Steps to Create Card:

    • Cut Black A2 Top Folding Card Base: 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″). For the inside I cut a White panel measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ along with a black spiderweb from the Creepy Crawly die set.
    • Cut White panel using the larges die in the Distressed Edge Rectangle set.
    • The background panel was ink lended with a combination of Distress Oxide inks – Chipped Sapphire, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Black soot. Blend to the desired night sky. For added texture I did spray water using my Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer. Let Dry.
    • Cut out in a black Happy Halloween w/Shadow die (do not need shadow). Two black trees, 3 black bats and a gray tomb stone from the Crafter’s Essential Halloween dies. I also cut a black strip at the bottom of my card to ground my scene.
    • Stamp two Dress Up Quokkas and choose two costumes from the Halloween Costume Add-On stamp set. Color with your favorite coloring medium. I used alcohol friendly ink and colored with copic markers.
    • Assemble Card. I used foam tape on some of my images to add dimension.


    You can see a peek inside where I lined it with a panel of white card stock and used the web.

    Thanksgiving Gnomes

    Hello Friends!  Today’s post features a sweet Gnome couple and a Cheeky Turkey!  I’ve created a fun Thanksgiving card using the “Thanksgiving Gnomes” Stamp Set.  This set does have a Coordinating Die Set also.

    I’ve colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and fussy cut them.  I don’t have the coordinating dies but the images are easy to cut out.  Before adhering to the card base, I popped the characters up using craft foam for that bit of dimension.  The papers are from the Echo Park “Celebrate Autumn” 6×6 paper pad.
    Lastly, I’ve added some translucent gold sequins for shine and called this card finished.  The turkey is my favorite; his expression is priceless….I think he’s a bit P.O’d.

    Creepy Crawlies and Boo-gy Ghosts

    Hello Crafty Friends!  Donna W. from Duncan Street Designs sharing a card created using new products from the Kat Scrappiness September 2021 Release.  Before we get to my card, I want to remind everyone of the Labor Day Sale at the Kat Scrappiness Store.  There are 2 days left to enjoy 15% off sitewide, including New Release items!

    My card is A2 in size and features the new release products Creepy Crawly Die Set, Boo-gy Ghost Die Set, Happy Halloween Word Die with Shadow, Boo To You Slimline Paper Pack and the Boo-Tacular Sequin Mix.

    I’m in seasonal crafting mode and this card was fun to design.  I love Autumn and Christmas crafting time and enjoy creating cute Halloween cards.  This card was a quick and easy make as the focal images are die cuts and I used my healthy scrap stash for them.
    I love the brightly colored papers in the Boo to You Slimline Paper Pack.  Although, the paper is slimline sized, you can easily for A2 sized projects.  I couldn’t resist using Googly Eyes, the BOO-TACULAR Sequin Mix and Wink of Stella on the Word Die for lots of sparkle and shine.  What’s more Spooktacular than a Spider with Googly Eyes and a Smiling Ghost?

    Hi Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing a summertime retirement card. So timely as I have just  retired from a 15 year teaching career, so consequently this summer means extra beach time and sun!

    But First . . . 

    CHRISTMAS IN JULY SALE!

    For the background of my card, I used the Under The Sea Coverplate Die by Kat Scrappiness to create a coral colored ocean background adhered over a light blue layer of card stock.

     

     

    To create the sandy beach I used the sand die included in the Summer Fun Essentials Dies by Kat Scrappiness and sponged it with Distress Oxide Ink before lightly splattering it with white acrylic paint.

    The beach bag (from the same die collection) was stamped  with “Happy Retirement” – part of the Happy Day stamp set.

     

    I added 3 enamels dots for the finishing touch.
