How to Create a Layered Valentines Card Using Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Heart Dies

Layered Hearts Valentines CardsHave you seen the new release from Kat Scrappiness yet? She has some great new shapes and double stitched heart dies. But I think it’s easier to show you how a card using these dies looks like. That’s why I created two layered hearts cards 😉

I started by grabbing a regular white piece of card stock and running it through my die cut machine with the largest of the new Stitched Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Dies. I also used the second largest of the Double Stitched Heart Dies to cut a heart shape from masking paper.

Now I added the mask onto the white piece and ink blended the lightest pink shade I had through a CC Designs stencil.

On to the actual hearts. I picked several sheets of the Doodlebug paper. Because I wanted to create some Valentines cards, I chose pink and red colors. To create the layers, I die cut each sheet with a different size of the Stitched Heart die and adhered them together.

Here is the final card, all layered together.

At the end I had several sheets of paper left over, so I decided to create a second card with the layers going inside. This time I used foam tape to make the layered effect even more visible.

Finally, I added a few sequins on top and decided to skip a sentiment. I guess the layered hearts are convincing enough 😛
