All of us here at Kat Scrappiness are excited to introduce you to Priscilla Joseph who is our guest designer for the month of November. Here is a little more about Priscilla:
“I’m a New England girl who now lives in the Chicago area, with a yearning to retire to southern California. I currently teach middle school and plan to retire someday to pursue my passion for card making full-time
I love black coffee and white wine but counterbalanced by a healthy eating lifestyle. When not teaching (which is pretty time consuming), my husband and I travel all over the country . . . from spring and summer break trips to the west coast or quick visits back home to the east coast. Finding time to cuddle up with a good book can be challenging — “chick-lit” and mysteries are often treasured reading on a flight to somewhere.
My first back-to-the-working-world job after my two sons started school was in corporate marketing management and writing for a high-tech company in Massachusetts. It was during that time period when I attended my first “Stampin’ Up!” party one evening in 2002. I didn’t realize then that the world of stamps, inks, and cards even existed! I was hooked immediately!
Years later, I moved to the Chicago area and made a major mid-life career change. I went back to school to earn my master’s in education and began teaching middle school Language Arts and Social Studies. Initially my passion for card making had to be pushed aside as I focused on being a dedicated teacher. But within the last five years, it has returned, and as my teaching career begins to wind down, my obsession is steering my journey into retirement.
I have branched out from buying and using only “Stampin’Up!” products to dabbling in inks, paints, stamps & card stock from a multitude of favorite on-line retailers. When I am designing my cards, I always try to direct my creatives juices in a direction I have not seen done yet. I’m not sure if I could categorize my “style” . . . some cards are clean & simple; others a little more bold and busy.
Please join me in my new journey as I play with stamps, ink, paint & paper . . . one project at a time.”
