Meet Our Guest Designers, New Releases

Crafty Creativity & Guest Design Spot

Karen Bull here and I am back with another guest design spot for Kat Scrappiness – so completely blessed! I have more designs utilizing the new August release.

My first card is a super fun shaker card! Using a piece of watercolor paper and a few different Tombow markers, I made an inked panel. Using a piece of plastic (a plastic bag, acetate, whatever I have on hand) I scribbled color, added water and then used the inked plastic to drag it across my paper. Then end result is a beautiful inked panel. With the Stitched Diagonal Background die, I cut my inked panel and saved all the pieces. Using plain white cardstock, I cut 6 more dies and set them aside. Starting with a top folding notecard, I adhered the outside edge of the inked panel. I then stacked the 6 white diagonal background die in the middle. Placing Flirty Flamingo sequins mix, I filled in each open area. On the top of the inked panel, I black heat embossed a sentiment from the Crafters Gonna Craft stamp set. On the back of the stamped panel, I added a sheet of clear acetate and glued the entire piece over the top of the sequins. Tah-dah! A super fun, handmade shaker card.

Still using my Tombow markers, I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth White carstock and scribbled some of my favorite colors down. I then spritzed it with water to smooth out and blend the colors. Using the Stitched Scalloped Collage Frame die, I cut the dry inked panel. On separate pieces of Bristol Smooth White cardstock, I stamped images from the Crafters Gonna Craft stamp set. I colored these images in with my Zig Real Color Brush pens and a water brush. Each image was fussy cut. On a side folding white notecard, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set. The collage die was glued down and I added the images in each open area. To add some sparkle, I used pieces from the Flirty Flamingo sequins mix. So fun!

To start this card, I used a piece of Bristol Smooth White cardstock and stamped various images on a 4×5.5 panel. I colored them in using Zig Real Color Brush pens and a water brush. Using a separate white cardstock panel I used a boarder die to cut the edge. Following the edge, I used a sentiment from the same stamp set.

This was adhered with foam tape to the colored image panel. The entire panel was added to a top folding notecard with craft foam in between for dimension. For shine, I added Silver Jewels in the open spaces on the card.

In my last card design I utilized the very cute sequin images from the stamp set. On a white cardstock panel cut to 4×5.5, I used a soft grey ink to stamp my sequins randomly. Using the swoopy scalloped edge die, I cut another piece of white cardstock. Selecting a sentiment from the same stamp set, I black heat embossed it along the curve. On a piece of Bristol Smooth White cardstock, I stamped my image, colored it with Zig Real Color Brush pens and a water brush, then fussy cut it out.

To assemble the card, I used craft foam between the bottom panel and the side folding notecard. The sentiment panel was added with adhesive. The image was added with foam tape. In between each space, I added a small star from the Neon Green Solid Stars sequins mix.
