Welcome Baby! | Personalizing Baby Cards

Hi Everyone, it’s Priscilla here. Today I thought I’d take a break in between all the Valentine’s Day cards and the upcoming Easter cards to show you a card I made for a friend’s new baby. Oftentimes I like to not only personalize the card with the baby’s name, but also to try to match the color scheme and theme of the baby’s nursery.

Colton’s nursery has an “outdoor adventure” theme and with colors found in this crib bedding pictured below . . .

I used two die collections from Kat Scrappiness to create this card. Let’s get started!

I started out by stenciling a white card base with a birch tree stencil, using medium gray ink. Then I die cut the trees from the Kat Scrappiness “Crafters Essentials-Winter” die collection onto lime green card stock. I used white acrylic paint to add “snow” to the branches and a white “Jelly Roll” pen to add some additional flakes.

Next I cut out the baby’s name using textured teal card stock and the Kat Scrappiness “Condensed Lowercase Alphabet Dies.” I centered and adhered them over the trees. I die cut a “Welcome” sentiment from the same teal card stock and placed it at the top of my card.

Next, I carried the color scheme and theme through to the inside of the card using the trees, plus the hills and deer from the same Kat Scrappiness “Crafters Essentials-Winter” die set.

There you have it.! A personalized card to welcome baby and hopefully provide a bit of decor for the nursery for months to come.

Thanks for stopping by! And don’t forget to check out what’s NEW in Kat’s Shop, and follow my blog and Instagramfor more “Kat Scrappiness Amazingness”!
