Turkey Free Is The Way To Be!

Hi friends!  Stephanie here.  Today I’m sharing this super cute Thanksgiving card featuring the Turkey Talk stamp set by Neat & Tangled along with an awesome invisible vellum adhesive.

I recently purchased some of this vellum adhesive from Kat’s shop and couldn’t wait to try it out.  This stuff really works!  Gone are the days of creatively hiding adhesive behind our vellum!  This is completely invisible and easy to apply.

I’ve included a process video for you to watch below, as well as some pictures and links to all of the products I used, which can all be purchased at KatScrappiness.com.

I started out using these Stitched Border Dies by Lawn Fawn to add some detail to the edges of my card front.  I love using all four dies together to create a wide band of stitching across the card.

Next I did a little ink smooshing using Walnut Stain, Evergreen Bough, and Ripe Persimmon Distress Inks.  I simply put some ink down on my work surface, spritzed it with a little water, and “smooshed” my panel into the ink, focusing most of the ink towards the top of the panel.

Next I colored this adorable turkey using my copic markers.  I am not an expert at using copics so I just did some very basic coloring.  I’ll show you the colors I used below, in case you’re interested.  You could color this cute little guy with any coloring mediums you enjoy using.

While fussy cutting around my turkey I found it too difficult to cut around his little legs.  I went ahead and cut those off and then stamped them directly to my card front as you’ll see below.

As I mentioned before, I was really anxious to try out this vellum adhesive from Kat’s site.  I have to tell you it was so easy to use and it truly is invisible.  I embossed my sentiment on some Bazzil 40 lb vellum, attached the adhesive sheet to the back before cutting around it, peeled off the backing sheet, and applied it to my card.

To start assembling my card I selected a design from the Perfectly Plaid Fall Paper Pack by Lawn Fawn.  I love this paper pad and think any of the papers would be perfect for this card.  I attached a small strip directly to my card base before adding the two main pieces of my panel, which I popped up on some foam tape.  I also added some foam tape behind my turkey to give him a little added dimension.

I finished the card off by adding a bakers twine bow and some sequins from the Aww-tumn Sequin Mix by Kat Scrappiness.  This sequin mix coordinates so well with all of the prints in this paper pack.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back on the Kat Scrappiness blog soon to share some fun holiday cards with you.  Until then Happy Thanksgiving!
