Hi Everyone! Priscilla here from Nubble Light Designs. Today I am sharing two mini slimline cards I made using new Kat Scrappiness mini slimline frame dies and the new Summer Quokkas stamp set. This adorable set makes creating those summer-themed cards so much fun! After all, who can resist a quokka tanning on the beach while sipping a “foo-foo” drink, doing a hula dance, or getting ready to surf those waves?
For my first card, I created an underwater scene with one of the summer quokkas. Who says you can’t enjoy a cool drink on the bottom of the ocean floor?
I used one of the new Mini Slimline Zig Zag Dies to create my top layer, sponging on several Distress Oxide inks to create the ocean water and the sandy bottom. I used stencils and stamps from my stash to enhance the underwater theme. I created the bubbles using Kat’s Sparkling Clear Droplets. Do you see those eyes peaking out from behind the seaweed? These are the new Eyes Have It Sprinkles from Kat Scrappiness.
I created a beach scene for my second card. I colored the quokka, coconut, and starfish with my alcohol markers and then paper pieced his swim trunks and the umbrella with patterned paper from the Starlight Bright Slimline Paper Pad.
The frame on this card is the Mini Slimline Cross Stitched Die and the circle opening was created with one of the Embossed Edge Circle Dies. I used the MFT Mini Cloud Edges Stencil to create the yellow clouds and blue waves. The sentiment, “Life’s a Beach, Enjoy the Waves” is from the Summer Gnome Add-On Stamp Set.
