It’s A Jungle Out There: Featuring the Bamboo Backdrop Die By Meghan Kennihan

Hi Crafty Friends,

Have you seen the amazing NEW Bamboo Backdrop Die from Kat Scrappiness?! It’s perfect for Pandas, Sloths, and all the Jungle Creatures in your stash! I made some samples for you using Stewart the Sloth and Gerda Steiner’s Lovely Panda. You can find both in the store!

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:

Q: What is your favorite jungle animal?

A: Me? Pandas! I wrote a book report on them in 3rd grade and have loved them ever since!

Card #1: Stewart the Sloth- Sorry I Was Slow

I started by die cutting my Bamboo Backdrop using kraft paper that I splattered with white, green and brown watercolors. It’s IMPORTANT to use a Metal Adapter Plate with this die because it’s VERY detailed. This adapter plate is AMAZING for all delicate and detailed dies. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

I created my base by just splattering it with the same watercolors. Then I colored up Stewart the Sloth and stamped the Belated Birthday Sentiment, die cutting it out using the Stitched Rope Rectangle Die.

I added my Acetate Sheet to the Bamboo Backdrop Die and then put the Spring Leaves Sequin Mix and Chocolate Sprinkles on my card to create my shaker piece.

I added Stewart, some tropical leaves and framed my sentiment in green and mounted it to my shaker.

Card #2: Wild About You Mr. Panda!

For this card, I created a more Tropical Scene. I mounted the Bamboo Backdrop Die on a bright green base card. Then I added a strip of Tropical Flower paper across the center.

I cut my sentiment out using the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banner Dies and added the little panda to my tropical flower strip.

I finished my card with some tropical flowers and glued little Kat Scrappiness Orange Jewels to the centers of all the flowers, it was tedious but turned out awesome!
