Halloween Scene Card

Hello, crafters!  This is Design Team member Cynthia with a very special Halloween card.  I used Kat’s brand new Crafters Essentials Fall die set and the Toil & Trouble Layered stamp set and matching dies for the adorable cat image and sentiment.  Let’s go ahead and break down some details of how I made this card.  For a full tutorial of all the steps, please be sure to follow the link below to Kat’s YouTube page and watch my video.

I started off by stamping the cat image in all three layers, then used the eyes stamp to give them a soft green color.  I found it very useful having my Misti stamp positioning tool on hand for this, although the images aren’t too challenging to line up just by sight.

I did some ink blending of Distress Oxide inks to create my night sky, then spritzed tiny water droplets on to imitate stars.  There are so many options for creating inked skies!  You could use purples, grays, blues, oranges – any colors that are your favorite  🙂

When creating a scene, it’s important to give yourself some “ground” for things to sit on.  Without it, your pieces will look like they’re floating in space – which you probably don’t want.  I simply cut myself a small strip of dark green card stock to act as my grass, then built my scene on top of it.

And here is the finished card!  I hope that you enjoyed this one, and that you’ll give these awesome dies and stamps a try for yourself.  They are currently available in the Kat Scrappiness shop, along with many other awesome products.  I’ve included a shopping link below for you, and please feel free to use my coupon code “CYNTHIA10” to enjoy 10% off your entire purchase.  Thank you so much for joining me today, and have an awesome day!
