Cheery Lynn inspired Wizard of Oz

dsc_0012

Hi everyone, it’s AJ and I’m back with my second project this month.  Today, I’m featuring #WitchesSkirt by #CheeryLynnDesigns and it was a pleasure to play around with this die again.  So what do you think inspired my card?  Ruby slippers, yellow brick road, and a witch trapped under a house!  Every time I looked at those striped stockings I thought of the Wicked Witch of the East.

So for starters, I cut a piece of black cardstock, slightly smaller than A2.  I ran some light yellow cardstock through my BigShot and distressed inked it with Fossilized Amber. I positioned and glued the brick on an angle and trimmed around the 3 sides to match the black base.  Then I cut 4 strips of kraft using the largest die in the Kat Scrappiness Rectangle Die Set.  I positioned on an angle, glued and trimmed each piece one by one, to match the black base.

I ran the Witches Skirt die through the BigShot in black and white cardstock to make the striped stockings.  I cut the shoes off, smeared with Ranger Multi Medium Matte and pressed them into ruby slipper colored glitter! While they were drying, I glued down my legs, double edge of skirt (I also cut that extra strip of skirt in lime green to offset and add a little more color), and the sentiment which was cut in both black and white.

I also added this super cute tag from #LawnFawn #TinyTags, that I stenciled with the #Echo Park #cobwebstencil in a very light coating of Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  I then stamped the sentiment in #VersaFineOnyxBlack ink using one from the Lawn Fawn #TinyTagSayings

Last I added a few sequins from Kat’s Margarita Mix, some B/W enamel dots and some plaid ribbon by May Arts.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project today, thank you so much for stopping by!  We’ve got lots of exciting stuff coming, so stay tuned!
