A Little Creepy & A Little Cute….Happy Halloween!

Hello and Welcome everyone! Happy Halloween!

I started my projects with the “Night Sky” or “Galaxy” backgrounds. I have tried several techniques to achieve this look, but haven’t had success until I rubbed my Distress Ink Mini Ink Pads directly onto my watercolor card stock. I have attached a video below that walks you step by step on getting a bright and shiny galaxy background.

After adding Distress Ink to the moons, I finished them by dipping them into the beautiful Gansai Tambi Starry Colors paints. This made them both shimmery and textured. The moons seem to glow and look almost real on those background pieces. I also used these awesome paints to add glowing windows and a touch of glow around the haunted house.

Using several die sets, I added the elements onto my cards. The spectacular, curvy tree and bat are from the Gina Marie Designs Spooky Tree Die Set. The ghoulish ghosts come from a set of 4 dies in the Boo-Ghosts also from Gina Marie Designs. I gathered the pumpkins from the Cheery Lynn Designs Pumpkin Swag Die Set and layered them around the trees. The haunted house used is a SVG cut file found online.

We would love to see your “night sky” or “galaxy” backgrounds as well as your Halloween and Fall cards. Tag #katscrappiness  in Instagram to share your amazing creations!
