You Make Life WONDERFUL Featuring Honey Bee Stamps!

Hello there everyone!

Today’s card was inspired by the super talented Debby Hughes. She always thinks of the most interesting ways to use her supplies. Recently, she made a card using tag dies and my light bulb went off and knew that the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Scalloped Tag Dies would be perfect for this creative card.

Kat carries lots and lots of Honey Bee Stamps Products. I pulled out several of the stamp sets to come up with an idea for my tag card. I knew I wanted to use either The Playful Pups or The Curious Kitties as the focal point. I then needed to come up with an idea for the greeting. While combing through the sets, I noticed the “YOU MAKE LIFE” words from the Color My World stamp set and then all of the great scripty words included in the Beautiful Life set. Teaming the two of these together was perfect to coordinate with my little pup. I love being able to get more use out of each and every stamp and die set, so mixing and matching is a favorite of mine.

I started out by stamping all of the pup accessories onto one of my cut tags. Each image was stamped in Copic friendly Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then very simply colored.  I wanted my pup to stand out amongst the accessories so I first cut a small circle from the Double Stitched Circle Dies. I then stamped my pup in Memento Ink and Copic colored it as well.

The scripty “wonderful” was super fun to stamp. I gathered Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue ink pads from various companies…I wanted to match the Copics I used. I very carefully pounced on little bits at a time of the various colors in rainbow order. I love how each color faded into one another, even blending to make new colors. Both the pup and the “wonderful” greeting were added to the tag card using foam tape. The last thing to do was join the 2 tags together using matching ribbon. Again, I borrowed this idea from Debby Hughes. She first passes a larger ribbon through the holes and doesn’t tie them. To hold everything together, and add just a tiny bit more interest, she used baker’s twine to tie a bow around the larger ribbon. I love the gathered look and finishing touch this adds.

Below I have added a quick process video. I hope you’ll stick around and check it out! Thank you for stopping by today!
