Watercolor Thanksgiving Card

Hello everyone! Juhi here, I’m sharing a watercolor card for Thanksgiving today.

Watercolor Thanksgiving Card with Hero Arts stamps

The Grateful Leaves Stamp Set from Hero Arts and the Thanksgiving Sentiments – Word to Rescue Set are the perfect combination for Fall/Thanksgiving cards, I can think of a million ways to use them together!

For today’s card I teamed up these 2 stampsets with the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Dies, a couple of shades of distress inks and one gorgeous sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness.

Here’s how I made this card:

I began by cutting out a rectangular panel of watercolor cardstock with the Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rectangle Die; I also cut out a square towards the top of this panel with the Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Square die. Keeping the smaller square still in place I stamped one of the leaves from the Hero Arts set repeatedly in straight lines in an alternate pointing up and pointing down orientation with crushed olive distress ink and spread the color with a wet brush. I wanted to subdue the stamping inside the small square panel; hence, I removed some color by wetting the stamped area and blotting with a piece of tissue paper.  I added an orange watercolor background around the leaves and stamped the sentiment onto the smaller square panel. Finally, I finished the card by adding a dark brown border around the sentiment panel and added some sequins from the Kat Scrappiness Cinnamon Swirl Sequin Mix.
