Hey crafty people! I’m so excited to be back sharing another card for you guys! This might be my favorite Thanksgiving card I’ve made this year! I used three different Lawn Fawn sets for this card, and only one was Thanksgiving themed. The other two are Christmas and Valentine’s Day focused, but that’s the joy of mixing your stamp sets- you can make them work for whatever you want! This technique is so very simple but I love the effect it gives. Sorry I didn’t include any process photos but I actually filmed the process but somehow lost the footage… So hopefully I will have a video for my next post! Anyways, let’s get into today’s card!
As you may have noticed, I am probably the most clean and simple designer her at Kat Scrappiness, so I wanted to share another way to use your critter stamps besides just making them the single focal point on a card like I typically do. SO I started with a regular A2 sized card base and used my Stampoholic Nano to do all of my stamping. Using the stamping tool worked wonderfully because I was able to position all the different stamps where I wanted on my card and stamp them all at once to create this background. You can’t really tell in the photo but I used a couple different shades of brown watercolor mixed with Perfect Pearls to give them all some shimmer. This adds a ton of interest to a one layer card background. I also used a foam blending tool to blend on some very light brown ink around the edges. I left the portion of the background whitest where my sentiment is going to go. Then I stamped the greeting onto a strip of wood grain paper and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. It turned out a bit yellow because I left it in the toaster for too long- yes, my heat gun is broken to I have resorted to kitchen appliances. Then I popped it up with a few foam dots. For a final touch I added a trio of Kat Scrappiness Cinnamon Swirl sequins to add some interest. Thank you so much for checking out my card and I hope you find some sets to mix and match for a new look!
