Hi Crafty Friends,
I have a fun tutorial for you today on how to make this heart sprinkles slimline shaker card! I made a clean and simple design so that the sprinkle colors would just POP from the card.
Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: What is your favorite unique shape (no square, rectangle, circle or triangle)
A: Me? Hearts!
I started by die cutting the four hearts using my Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Heart Dies using my Tonic Studios Mat to make sure they are evenly spaced. I used this die because I wanted that stitched edge around the hearts to match the stitched edging around the entire card and on the banner dies.
Next, I picked out the sprinkles I wanted to use. I chose all the colors of Valentine’s Day… Red Heart Sprinkles, Hot Pink Heart Sprinkles, Magenta Heart Sprinkles, Purple Heart Sprinkles. Kat Scrappiness has EVERY color heart sprinkles so if you don’t like these colors, there are PLENTY to choose from!
I lined up my sprinkles in little piles using my hearts to make sure they are spaced properly.
I added my Kat Scrappiness Acetate Sheets to the back of the slimline die and covering my hearts then layered on the foam tape around each heart die so that they each have their own little pocket for each of the different colors sprinkles.
I pressed it down over my piles and shook it up to spread them around. Then I finished my card by gluing a few of the hearts on my panel and adding the sentiments from the Friendship Greetings Stamp set on Kat Scrappiness Stitched Fishtail Banner Dies.

Good details on the card creation process. Shakers seem a bit intimidating to me. Haven’t tried one yet, but it is my goal to complete one this year.
