Enjoy The Summer…

Hello everyone! Cheryl here today, with a fun Summer card to share. I recently picked up a few new Gerda Steiner stamp sets and this little piggy is from one of them. The set is called Pool Piggies. Oh my heavens, you have to check it out!!! Anyway, I stamped the piggy first and then masked it off with masking paper. I then lined up the floating ring and stamped it. When you pull the masking paper off, this is what you get. I love that, it’s always a fun surprise! I then colored the image with my Copic markers  and added a good layer of Glossy Accents to the float to make it shiny.

I got out one of my fave paper pads right now, Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes, and picked a nice pool water color. I did a bit of ink blending over top using a stencil from my stash to make it look a bit more like water. I used a KS Double Stitched Rectangle die to cut it. I then  cut it into strips using a die that resembles waves, and taped it back together from the back side.  I added an Action Wobble to the back of the piggy element.

I layered the water/wave paper to a piece of bright Summery paper that matched the colors of the float. And that was added to an A2 size card base of 110# cardstock. I stamped out the sentiment and use the same KS rectangle die to cut two sides of the sentiment so it would line up  nicely with the paper below it. I cut a flag end and put a foam square under it. The other end I used tape runner so there was just a bit of dimension on the one end only. I stamped out a phrase from KS new stamp set called Interactive Card Instructions, that says “I move” and cut with a die and added it under the edge of the element.  I then positioned the piggy element on the front of the card and pressed into place. Now he “wobbles in the water” on his floater…so fun!

I picked out some Nuvo drops and added a few scattered around the card. One color is a glittery orange and the other a pretty aqua color.

And that’s it. Pretty easy card, really. But fun and bright for Summer. I hope you like my creation and got a little bit of inspiration. Pull out some of your supplies and have fun crafting!

Thanks for coming by. Have a fun Summer!
