Hello!! It is Nora here with my first blog post for the Kat Scrappiness Design Team!! I created a 5″ by 7″ card using the NEW Kat Scrappiness 5×7 Never Ending Rectangle Dies, the 5×7 Woodgrain Framed Diamond Wire die, along with some stamps and dies from the Quokka Thanksgiving Costume Add On. I always love to use my stamps and dies in fun ways so I challenged myself to do some overlay with the Framed Diamond Wire Die and to use the small, fall images with the Quokka Add On set. Below you will find the steps I used to create my card.
Step 1: To begin, trim a piece of Kraft cardstock into a 10″ by 7″ piece. Score at 5″ for your card base.
Step 2: Next die cut a piece of white cardstock using the 5×7 Never Ending Rectangle Dies. Then splash watered down ink across the paper to give it a textured look. Set it aside to dry
Step 3: While the background is drying, die cut two pieces of Kraft cardstock using the Kat Scrappiness 5×7 Woodgrain Framed Diamond Wire. Then overlay the two together until you get the above pattern. Adhere both frames together using Bearly Art Precision Glue. When the glue dries, die cut the new pattern you created with the 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ Never Ending Rectangle Die.
Step 4: To create a frame for your wire pattern use two of the Never Ending Rectangle dies and die cut out of white cardstock. Then blend brown dye ink over the top of the frame. Adhere the frame to the layered wire.
Step 5: Adhere the framed pattern over the splashed background. Next, adhere the whole piece to the card front using the Bearly Art Precision Glue.
Step 6: Using the Quokka Thanksgiving Costume Stamps and die set, stamp four wide pumpkins, four tall pumpkins, five acorn sets and eight sets of leaves with black ink. Color all of the images in using whatever medium you would like, (I used Copic Markers) Die cut the colored images using the coordinating dies.
Step 7: Arrange all the die cut pieces into a wreath. Fussy cut some of the leaves and acorns, to tuck over and under the pumpkins.
Step 8: Adhere the wreath to the card front as shown. (I tucked a scrap piece of jute to “hang” the wreath but you don’t have to do this.) Cover some of the leaves and the top of the acorns with Glossy Accents.
Step 9: The last step is to adhere Kat Scrappiness Fire Flame Dual Color Mix Pearls in various sizes randomly around the wreath.
Don’t forget that Kat Scrappiness is having a sale in the Halloween and Fall Category until October 25, 2021. Thank you for stopping by today!!
